Last night I truly have been astonished!!! The athmosphere
was smooth, I set up the "cannon" in the afternoon. At night
came to us a friend; together observed until 2 a.m.. Saturn
was so rich of details…I did not see it like that before…
the Cassini's division appeared like a dark blade, for Encke
division I need a bit of more time. At 300x or more magnification,
motion drive is not yet at its best. The bands on the disk were
colourful, the three inner satellites were very easy to see.
It was the first time I saw NGC891; M42 was stunning… in the
"Trapezium" the 5th star of the system was easy to see; finally
cluster's and background stars appear dot like.

I am very satisfied with the optics. My telescope got a lot of attention during the last telescope convention in Germany. Planetary views are limited only by seeing conditions (about 500 to 600 power). The view of deep sky objects are also spectacular thanks to the big aperture. December 2002
18 Month of splendid performance on the heaven ! Now scope is ready for a new season. Telescope got a lot of attention at star parties in Germany. First question was always. "Where did you get this mirror..." April 2004

Observation report
January 5th, 2000 - Wednesday. Observing through your 250mm f/4 Newton,
I'd been able to see the Encke division on Saturn outer ring, thousands of
shades in the inner rings and on the planet's disk; the 4/5 leading bands
were shading in many tones. Both at 266 power magnification (2x Barlow lens
+ orthosopic 9mm) and at 400x (2x Barlow lens + orthosopic 6mm), the sights
were flawless; at higher magnification the best wiewes needed a bit more
time for focus adjustment. Later, grazing at Jupiter, I'd been able to
observe the entangled structures sprawling from the tenth of bands that
cross the gaseous giant athmosphere. The four satellites did not appear
dot like objects, but showed a small disk. These stunning observations
had been possible after the very good seeing (9/10) conditions, and
allowed me to verify the high quality of the whole telescope.
